There are many alternatives nowadays to allow cakeheads everywhere the luxury of treating themselves, and other people, on a semi-regular basis. A celebration cake, for a specific occasion, is a popular choice, but there doesn’t have to be a specific occasion to justify a beautiful and delicious cake! Cupcakes are also a favourite, as they offer just a modest ‘slice’ of indulgence. But there is a much simpler appeal to cupcakes: I’m sure the cupcake is most children’s very first venture in the kitchen, and is consequently executed with a great deal of care and pride.
