Manchester Anxiety Help Company Information

General information

I consider myself to be an expert in the recovery of panic disorder, generalised anxiety disorder and agoraphobia. I know first-hand how to successfully treat these disorders. I once experienced them severely myself and now I do not. I have been helping people with anxiety recovery since 2006. It is my passion, giving people their life back is one of lifes most fulfilling pleasures. Recovery from anxiety disorders is an extremely liberating experience which brings with it its own benefits. The wisdom and confidence you will gain will make you a much more integrated person - happier, peaceful and more confident.

My name is Matthew Coleclough and I am a qualified CBT therapist, NLP practitioner and mindfulness therapist, but more importantly I have a genuine desire to help you overcome your disorder and help give you a better quality of life. I can relate to exactly how you feel and can provide understanding, guidance and techniques that will vastly improve your situation and ease your suffering.

My knowledge and understanding of anxiety disorders comes from years of study, research and application to my own life. My approach and applied method is well-founded and I take extreme pride in my ability to help people that struggle with nervous problems. My passion and record of achievement in this field speak for themselves. I began helping people with anxiety disorders in 2006 by self-funding local anxiety support groups and I continued to do this for almost four years before joining BIG in Mental Health www.buryinvolvementgroup.org. Here I created the anxiety support division which still continues to this day helping hundreds of anxiety sufferers each year. In 2011 I became part of the training programme at Fairfield General Hospital in Bury, where I gave educational talks on anxiety disorders to the junior doctors as part of their psychiatric training. I was recognised for my contributions to mental health services and was awarded the Queens Award for Voluntary Services in 2014 as part of Bury Involvement Group. I have written much literature on the subject of anxiety recovery and in 2013 I had written my first self-help book titled 'TOM - The Other Mind' which I offered as a free PDF download. I am currently working on my latest book titled ‘The Clicker Method' which incorporates a unique method to overcome anxiety disorders. I hope to have this published early/mid 2016 with trials currently underway.

From a very young age I developed panic disorder and generalised anxiety disorder and later developed Agoraphobia. My life became very contained and at my worst I couldn’t even walk up a flight of stairs without experiencing heightened anxiety. For a further eight years I suffered until I had a nervous breakdown. This was a turning point in my life and where I began to study my condition with only one purpose in mind - recovery. This led me to research this subject in a very thorough and unique way using the best tool for measured success (myself).

I have a keen interest in neuroscience and have studied in great depth the work of Professor Joseph Ledoux and his continual research on the biological underpinnings of emotion and memory, especially brain mechanisms related to fear and anxiety. I have studied all the works of the great late Dr. Claire Weekes, a true pioneer in ‘nervous illness’, and I have studied the mindfulness work and teachings of Thich Nhat Hanh and Breathwork of Dr Konstantin Buteyko amongst many others.

Understanding is at the core of my methods, which are unique and tailored to suit, but coincide with a host of CBT based methods, mindfulness-based therapies and breathwork. My ability to really help people overcome their anxiety problems comes from a genuine passion to help, a thorough understanding of anxiety disorders and a wealth of experience. My aim is always the same, which is to ease suffering and aid recovery. I provide simple and effective treatment at affordable rates.
