General information

Neil Losada is the owner, principal trainer and behaviour consultant for BestBehaviourK9.

He has owned dogs of various breeds for most of his life and always enjoyed the usual aspects of pet dog training. However he began studying canine behaviour in earnest when he began working a German Shepherd Dog, Mac, who had aggressive tendencies.

Neil learned how to read and understand dog behaviour, successfully integrating Mac into his family and working him until retirement. Impressed by Neil’s methods, friends asked him for assistance dealing with their own training and behavioural needs. Word spread and demand for his help grew so much that he decided to offer his services to everyone.

Neil’s professional experience spans over 11 years, during which, he has raised, trained and worked Police Dogs in a number of disciplines; including obedience, agility, protection work, tracking and searching for property and people. He has competed at numerous regional competitions and twice at the highest level in the UK National Police Dog trials of 2009 and 2010. Neil has also successfully competed, organised and judged at a number of civilian and Service Dog competitions. He has trained dogs for film and television, most recently; X-men First Class.

Neil is a Home Office accredited trainer, he holds a City and Guilds qualification in teaching and an NVQ Level 3 in Customer Care.. He is a member of the British Institute of Professional Dog Trainers, the British Police and Service Canine Association and an accredited trainer and assessor with the National Association of Security Dog Users. As a Master Trainer with the Guild of Dog Trainers, Neil is also featured on their website.

Neil is well respected in Dog care/training circles, with the majority of his referrals coming from Veterinary practices and satisfied customers.
