Minehead Tennis Club, between Alexandra Road & Townsend Road, Minehead, West Somerset, welcomes all players and the best way to find out that we are as friendly and social as we claim is to come along and see us :-)

Prospective new members are welcome to check us out on any day of the week and there will usually be somebody at the club happy to help and, if there isn't, there are contact details available on the noticeboards.

Even better, why not pop along on a Saturday when our open-to -all Rusty Racquets session provides the opportunity for adult beginners, improvers and even a few more advanced players to play tennis on an informal basis without any need to join the club.

However, Rusty Racquets is so popular that lots of players who started on an informal basis then went on to become members of Minehead Tennis Club still go to Rusty Racquets because it's such a fun afternoon of social tennis, chat, coffee and cake so there are likely to be lots of full members around too.

Rusty Racquets is active at Minehead Tennis Club from 2pm to 5pm on Saturdays.

It's for beginners as well as people who have previously played tennis and want to get back to playing so everybody can feel at ease.

Pete and Maggie who run it are just ordinary club members and are very welcoming. You don't need to be a member of the club to come along and play.

Some tennis racquets are usually available to borrow for free so you don't even have to have a tennis racquet; just appropriate footwear.

Watching is free. Just come along and join in the social fun and then tell your friends! (However, it's much more fun to knock a tennis ball about too!)

A small contribution towards the cost of the tennis balls of about two pounds fifty pence each week is requested (if you actually get to hit one! ie. not from the watchers).

No commitment! Turn up or not each week as you like!

It's getting increasingly popular with twenty people turning up regularly at last count.

Minehead Tennis Club is a lovely place to spend time, get some exercise in the sunshine and socialise.

If you find you want to play more than once a week, you can become a member of Minehead Tennis Club which entitles you to play at the many other social and club sessions throughout the week and also in other Minehead Tennis Club official tournaments and league matches with other clubs.
