The purpose of Rebecca Davies Osteopathy is to see everyone enjoy optimal health and function and living life to their full potential aided by Osteopathy and health education.
The roots of osteopathy lie in it's philosophy and this philosophy states that all living persons have a self-restoring, self-maintaining mechanism. This mechanism can be disturbed by what we call 'osteopathic lesions' - something which blocks the self-regulation of the organism and there-by disturbs the underlying physiology. These 'blocks' can be caused by physical trauma, emotional disturbance, postural compensations. Osteopathy works by locating the blocks and helping the body to change the patterns associated with those blocks.
