General information

I'm David Fernie. Acronym Design is my freelance design consultancy. I have over 20 years’ experience designing marketing communications for national and international advertising agencies and clients. My skills include digital marketing, advertising, direct mail, exhibition design, outdoor (traditional and animated) campaigns, broadcast and non-broadcast promotional films, web design, print and art direction.
I've been lucky enough to have worked with clients from a diverse range of industries including construction, tourism, animal health, higher education, retail, healthcare and automotive.
In addition to my design role, I'm also a professional photographer whose work has appeared in several books and magazines throughout the world.
As Creative Head of Ten Alps Vision, I was responsible for implementing the rollout of the worldwide rebrand for The Ahlstrom Corporation in 2011.
I'm extremely hands-on working predominantly with InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop. I can take a project from initial brief (I love taking to clients) through concepts, creative development and through to finished artwork (I also love getting my hands dirty and have excellent pre-press skills).
