General information

My name is Ajad Miah and I am the founder of Jameeah FC. The club was founded by myself in January 2013.

Our vision from the offset has been to integrate the wider community and involve all players from all backgrounds regardless of their ethnicity, religious beliefs or social status to work with the club and increase in not only harmony but community solidarity. This is why after much deliberation with players and respected members of the community we agreed that the name Jameeah FC would best serve the club. The reasoning behind this is because the phrase “Jameeah” actually means ‘Collector’, ‘Gatherer’ and we believe everyone who is associated with the club is part of the Jameeah family.

As we approach the clubs first anniversary we look forward to exciting times ahead for us. Our aim is to offer sporting activities to the community to promote a healthier lifestyle and living. Statistics tell us that sport is seen globally as a medium to engage both young and old in fun filled activities and as an organisation we strongly believe that the services we will offer the wider community will not only provide a platform to enhance their lives but to also enrich it. We strongly believe that our club can provide a healthier lifestyle, social cohesion and social integration.

Jameeah Seven & Veterans

The club not only has an 11 a side team but also a 7 a side team which is currently in its 5th season at a very well organised competitive league called Pro-Seven based in Weston Favell, Northampton. We are currently top of our league and finished top last year although we lost the league on goal difference, the year before this we finished 2nd. Our striker Pratik Kanani is currently the leading goal scorer in the league and last year he was rewarded with the golden boot.

We now have entered Jameeah veterans team into a league which will be hosted at Northampton School for Boys and also have the intention in the long run to enter the Sunday Combination Vets League starting in September.

The veteran’s team will be managed by Webster and the help of Akik Miah. Akik Miah is a respected businessman who is also a member of the Northampton Bangladeshi Association (NBA). Akik was the main organiser for setting up NBA’s first league which lasted for 5 years. This league was FA affiliated and was established with the intention of promoting Asians to competitive football. We are adamant Akik alongside Uchee are the right candidates to take the veterans team forward.

Jameeah FC Academy

As a result of the success we’ve had in the short space of time we’ve been together we thought it would be a great idea to launch an academy. It is currently at the early stages

of being set up as we recently secured the grounds for the academy with the plan to start with an age group of 7-10 years with a long term plan in place to expand to under 21 which will also include Girls.

We acknowledge that sports provide a sense of purpose and direction. Opening an academy will help steer the youth of our community in the right direction; with the current rise of drugs and violence we are sure that this academy will provide the platform to channel their energy in a positive and meaningful manner. We aim to provide those who enrol in the academy with not only a healthier lifestyle but to help develop their practical and life skills, increase their knowledge about football, meet new people and most importantly have fun.

We also have plans to launch other social networking pages. This is another means of us extending our message, causes and future projects.
