Carla Swan is a psychotherapist as well as a counsellor. She is a Oxford University trained Masters level Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy therapist, she is also a Relate trained couples therapist holding a Postgraduate Certificate in Couples Counselling from the University of East London. This rare skill set gives her an expansive knowledge and experience working transdiognostically with clients utilising CBT, psychodynamic, systemic and Narrative therapy models, whilst having the skill set to work with relationships as well as pathological problems one or both of her clients are suffering. Though mainly working in English, Carla also counsels clients through a foreign language interpreter.
Carla works with couples and individuals in a safe, comfortable and confidential environment. She provides short-, medium-, and long-term therapeutic services.

She designed and implemented the couples therapy service within Central North West London NHS Foundation Trust , the Milton Keynes branch, as part of the national Improving Access Don Baucomto Psychological Therapies (IAPT) primary care service, ensuring that it was up to date with NICE guidelines. Her supervisor and mentor has included Professor Don Baucom the world-recognized cognitive behavioural therapy for couples.

Carla was also one of first practitioners in the UK to train other clinicians in this evidence-based approach to couples therapy this was on behalf of BABCP.
She is accredited with the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP), the leading organisation for CBT in the UK, and a member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP). This means that she is bound by the codes of ethics and practice of both organisations, guaranteeing the highest standards of professionalism and confidentiality. She is also an accredited family law consultant with Resolution.
