Milburn Game & Shooting: Narford Hall Shoot Company Information

General information

"One of the elite group of shoots favoured by King Edward VII", Shooting Times 2009

The Quidenham Estate is located in Norfolk and easily reached and only ten minutes off the A11 (London to Norwich road) near Snetterton race course. Quidenham is an historic shoot and was regularly visited by King Edward VII as a guest of Lord Albermarle at Quidenham Hall from 1897. Our shoot hut is only 70 miles from London with excellent access for major road and rail networks.

Quidenham Estate covers 3,600 acres including 500 acres of mature woodland and with over forty high quality drives we offer our guests an all-round first class and memorable game shooting occasion. Our keeper Robert Brown has worked on the estate for over thirty years and is widely recognised across East Anglia as a highly experienced and respected gamekeeper. Our loyal and knowledgeable team of beaters and pickers-up are a backbone of the shoot and Robert ensures our days are planned to deliver the best results.

Our historic drives include Parsons Wood, The Devil's Oven (where there's a flint structure used to trap Duck's for the King's visits), Ice Hill, Lime Kiln and Ladies Grove - each one with fascinating history and many would say some of the finest Partridge and Pheasant drives anywhere in the UK.

We offer 200-bird fully let and shared let days, mini-driven (walked-up) days and have Wednesday and Friday syndicates. We are also a venue for Field Trials and host several regional field trial societies. With new investment from a new shoot tenant there will be some important and notable changes from next season ;

New shoot hut at ‘Manor Farm Barns’ right in the heart of the estate
New blood stock – all birds will be bought as poults from respected East Anglian game farms
Re-introduction of some classic drives
New catering arrangements and hosts
Our days start in our brand new shoot hut where you'll receive a very warm welcome with hot drinks and bacon rolls. Elevenses will be served in the field after the second drive followed by a two course sit down lunch with wine after the fourth drive. After lunch there will be two more drives and the day will conclude with hot drinks and homemade cakes back at the shoot hut.

We are keen to encourage Guns to work their own dogs and also encourage novice Guns. We work with several experienced instructors who can be booked to stand with novice guns for a first rate level of tuition.

During the ownership of the Earls of Albermarle, the estate was developed to provide a high quality shoot which is referred to in the renowned shooting publication "The Great Shots" by Ruffer. Country Life, Shooting Times and Shooting Gazette magazines have featured the shoot over the years leading to considerable interest and loyalty from guns across the UK, Europe and North America.
