Hip Operation

General information

A six to twelve piece band. Among the thousands of UK and International gigs we have played are weddings for major sporting stars, awards ceremonies post conference parties, charity balls and key corporate events such as the Coronation Street 25th Anniversary. We have appeared on the same bill as many household names in the entertainment world.

We have most recently worked with Ant and Dec on a celebration for the Donnelly family and were invited to play at Alan Shearer's 40th birthday party as the feature act. We received fabulous acolades on The Chris Moyles show and other national radio stations and have recently appeared a number of times for the Jordanian Royal Family as their first choice for family celebrations.
The bands annual schedule also involves many corporate events and private parties playing a variety of music from big band, soul music and up to date chart songs.

A collaboration of some of the finest professional musicians in the North East, a stunning vocalist and a world-class brass section creating one of the busiest live bands in the UK.
No Sheet Music! There is nothing worse than watching a band of disconnected hired-in musicians who spend the whole gig staring into a music stand rather than performing, as is the case with far too many large function bands these days. This is absolutely NOT the case with Hip Operation. All of the music is memorised by the band members, so that the band can PERFORM for you!

Professional Production
The band comes with a dedicated PA/Lighting system, to ensure the best production at all times. The system can be scaled up for larger events or outdoor concerts. The band carries full public liability insurance and all equipment is PAT tested. Copies available on request.
