Textiles2dye4 began because of Shirley's passion for everything textiles.....
Designing and making wedding dresses is her first love. Working with fine fabrics such as silk and lace, including lots of embellishment with embroidery or beading by hand.
In her other work, Shirley loves to explore texture. She usually starts with taking photographs and then experiments with various techniques of combining stitch and colouring fabrics to achieve a variety of results.
Shirley's love of textiles developed into teaching, first adults and more recently school children from Year 7 through to A level and beyond.
