Welcome to the Parent Fairy Facebook Page. I'm the Parent Fairy, AKA Janine Terry. I am a Parent Coach, and also mum to a seven year old daughter. I help parents to identify ways to make things easier for them, and supporting them in making the changes they want to make to their family life. Parenting is a tough job, and I believe that every parent can benefit from parent coaching. Just like every other skill, we can always learn more.

I am based in Orpington, Kent, and have experience in coaching parents on many challenging issues. I found parenting my daughter very difficult in the early days. Shouting was the only technique I was really familiar with, but it just seemed to make things worse. When I realised that many people I spoke to were going through similar difficulties, I felt an urge to bring people together who had shared parenting worries. I found that just by realising you are not alone, it lightens the load.

So, I decided to become a parent coach and trained with Parent Gym. I now regularly run parenting courses for them as a volunteer. Being a parenting coach doesn't mean I am (or think I am) a better parent than you. A top athletic star's coach probably isn't a better athlete than the star. They are just good at coaching and getting the best out of them. Being a stay at home with mum with just the one child who is at school, I have had plenty time to immerse myself in the subject of parenting, in a way that many of you might not have had the time to do because you have more children, work or other commitments that have got in the way.
