hi my name is dan holmes ive worked within the autobody and restoration industry for 13 and a half years where istarted as atrainee and devoloped my skills very quickly willing to learn any skill and teckneak thrown my way my first part was repair preperation and paint witch lerned me most of the skills ineeded to get started and gave me the underrstanding of how things worked togeather to create the finnished product ilearned many of things over the years and also taught my self alot of things by trying veriouse ways to do things ive lerned metal finishing metal forming shaping welding fabrication building bucks moulds panel beating pine preperation smart repairs plastic repairs adapting things to the way iunderstand and work ive worked afair different positions withing the trade mostly on the shop floor on the tools ive been head painter workshop manager ive been self employed subcontracting for various people either way ive been working and maintaining ahighstandard of quaility and turn around on my jobs im a creative person ilike to acheve and create a product with meaning and caracter ilike observe and recreate things while adding apart of my self to the peice and have lernt if your not happy with your self and what your doing then you need to give it your everything to acheve what you want somthimes failing sometimes not ispent most of my time in the restoration part of the motor trade where ive undertaken every job from small cosmetic tidy up on classic cars from full back to bare metal full rebuild then rare car restoration whjere cars are hand built and custom fited to that one car and you strive to make make that car near to perfect as posable you learn so many lessons from doing this as ajob and its easy to get sucked in and enjoy every part of the job you can devolope ocd like problems where your only ever happy when its perfect ilove everything about classic cars there lines there shapes there smell sound and caracter and you have to respect them because they live to tell the tale when so many other havent on that note my other love is custom cars and motorcycles because you pour everything about your self into them you bring somthing tired worn and standard to ahole new level and you have to have passion and understanding when creating
