Hi there, welcome to Harmony Ent. Music Academy, the part time music academy for guitarists, bass guitar players, drummers, singers and even ukulele-ists (if that isn’t a word then we are claiming it) to learn, build technique, experience and build confidence. We offer 30 minute & 60 minute weekly lessons with our amazing tutors (we’re biased but it is true) who are highly experienced, patient and passionate about learning to play.

Is This For You?

The criteria to be a student at HEMA is simply a wish to improve. Our students are of all ages and abilities, some have studied music at degree level, other have been playing for 40 years with no formal training while we have plenty of students who are just starting out on their musical journey. So don’t panic if you think you are too old or too young, or not good enough, we are not here to judge, we are here to help.

Everyone has a guitar somewhere in their house, probably gathering dust in a corner like an ornament with the intention of one day learning how to get a tune out of it. Now is the time to dust it off and tune it up (we can help with that too).

Music Lessons in Bury

We have several specialist tutors for each instrument all of whom have been selected for their experience, ability and stylistic approach. Our singing lessons might cover anything from modern pop like Taylor Swift or Adele through to old school soul-rockers like Joni Mitchell while our drum tutors are at home teaching powerful grooves from The Foo Fighters and Royal Blood through to shuffles by Jeff Porcaro. Learning to play should be inspirational and our lessons are designed to work around whatever music you are passionate about. You may want to be the next Lemmy (as a bass player hopefully not a singer) either way we can help you with your goals.

Harmony Ent. Music Academy. How does it work?

Our one to one lessons are structured to maximise your time with your tutor, working on warm-up’s, technique building exercises, practical and theory knowledge, performance skills and building a repertoire of songs.

Our 30 minute lessons are perfect for less experienced (and younger) musicians. It’s a great amount of time to get enough information, have a good workout on your instrument without over working muscles or getting frustrated (or bored for younger students).

Our 60 minute lessons are perfect for more experienced musicians who are looking to hone their skills and push themselves. These more in depth lessons allow tutors more time to work muscles and motor skills, build dexterity and knowledge while developing musicality.

And don’t worry about the days between lessons, our tutors will be working on practice routines that suit your lifestyle and spare time. From experience we can tell you that it’s not how much you practice but what you practice. 5 minutes of quality practice a day can be more worthwhile than an hour of noodling. You don’t need lots of spare time, you just need structure and the right routine for you. We can help with this.

Guitar, Drum , Bass Guitar & Singing Tuition. Should I take grades?

Grades are a fantastic tool however not for everyone. Whether you should study the graded syllabus depends on what you are looking to achieve/improve on your instrument. All of our tutors are happy to work through the graded syllabus and we can even help you register for exams etc however you should talk to your tutor about what you would get out of it and whether it’s the right move for your playing.
