Hidden off the busy thoroughfare of Elm Grove & Kings Rd, the Tavern est 1859, sits in a conservation area adjacent to a tree lined square in this quiet backwater of Southsea. Our award winning family bar & eating rooms have been welcoming friends new & old for nearly seven years providing fresh home cooked meals in a relaxed & inviting atmosphere

-We have been awarded 'The Best Pub' Award at The Portsmouth Guide Awards & a Trip Advisor certificate of excellence for 2013, a big thank you to everyone that went on the site & reviewed us, and voted for us.

-The Tavern Coffee Morning takes place every Wednesday 10am-12pm, great deals on hot drinks & cake in a lovely atmosphere.

-The Tavern fortnightly alternative quiz is contining to be very popular, come along!

-Live Jazz with 'Fusebox' happens here at The Tavern the first Saturday of every month and we have a live folk session the second and fourth Wednesday of every month.
