Chiropractic Health Centres have 2 clinics, one based in Blackheath and one in Orpington. Our Chiropractors are highly qualified and have over 56 years’ combined experience. The partnership consists of three Chiropractors, each having their own area of specialization and expertise. The practices have welcomed over 10,000 patients since our doors first opened. We consistently deliver standards of excellence, and our first class reputation within the community means many of our referrals come directly from General Practitioners and personal recommendation.

Chiropractic has been developed over the years, with the strong belief that the natural healing power of the body and interferences of the nerve impulses at the spinal levels can affect the body’s natural ability to function to perfection. Every part of your body, from cells, tissues and your immune system, depends on the correct functioning of your nervous system. It is often found that patients suffering with back pain also have other health problems that resolve with chiropractic care.

Latest technologies for precise diagnosis
Our aim always is to work with an as accurate as possible diagnosis for each patient we are treating. This is very important to us and to do so, we therefore have invested in specialist diagnostic tools such as a Digital X-ray machine and an EMG (electromyographic) scanner to identify the specific problems of our patients. The diagnosis from X-rays are very complementary to visual and palpatory findings. The benefit for the patient is to know what to expect from their personal treatment plan, to evaluate their bone quality status, to rule out bony anatomical or genetical deformities.

It is in some instances safer to have images before any mechanical work on the spine and this is one reason to choose in specific cases to view X-rays before any chiropractic treatments. However, only approximately 30% of our new patients are asked for X-ray evaluations.

These sophisticated tools allow us to instigate precise treatment regimes, tailored to each patient’s personal requirements. The EMG (electromyography) scanner is a highly effective diagnostic tool, specifically designed for the Chiropractic profession. It is a non-invasive, painless procedure, suitable for all patients from babies, children and women who are pregnant and senior patients. State-of-the-art technology allows the scanner to produce a computerised image of the spine, by assessing the voltage variations on the surface of the skin; these changes indicate differences in muscular tension or inflammation along the spine and help the chiropractor in evaluating the spinal imbalances he will then correct. It is a great visual tool for the patient to understand what the therapist will act upon to improve their health.

At the Chiropractic Health Centre we are also very eager to learn new methods of treatments. We are constantly keeping up to date with chiropractic research. We employ a variety of spinal corrections which enables us to cater as much as we can to the greatest range of patients, the elderly, babies, athletes, acute conditions etc.
