General information

Barry is an Independent Consultant specialising in project management with the specific objective of helping clients achieve their ambitions. This can be through training and hands-on support for the introduction of best practice in areas as wide-ranging as strategy development, business change management, and business process reviews. He has over 30 years’ construction, strategy and project management experience, including central and local government, Royal Mail, Anglian Water, Scottish Enterprise, Saudi ARAMCO, and BNFL. He has worked with Durham Business School’s Distance Learning programmes since 1994 on a number of courses and has supervised about 100 dissertations with students from all over the world, increasing his breadth of experience in all aspects of business strategy and management.

In 2010 he was elected as a member of the International Management Board of the Association of MBAs.

His published material includes articles on change management, achieving project success, data management, general management subjects, and book reviews. International publications are on sustainability and IT, and a further paper on procurement in water utilities awaits publication. He participated in the Infrastructure UK work funded by The Treasury in 2010.

An MBA graduate, Barry is a Certified Management Consultant, a Chartered Engineer; he is accredited for PRINCE2, has previously been security cleared and is CRB checked in London Borough of Bromley.
