The Parish of Old St Pancras

General information

St Pancras Old Church has been a site of Christian worship since the 4th century. It is thought that this church is on a site that has offered worship for more than 1700 years. Fragments of Roman material can still be seen here and there in the fabric of the current building. The monuments and reuse of stone chart the history of the church’s development over time. Spanning eight centuries since Fulcherius in the late 12th century the incumbents stretch down to the present day, Fr James Elston becoming the Team Vicar in 2012.

Whilst being proud of our history, we are fully present as part of a vibrant worshiping community within the Parish, working with our sister churches to make the Good News of Christ known to the people of Camden today. Our worship stands very much in the catholic tradition of the Church of England and there is both incense and fervent preaching at our Sunday morning mass and everyone is welcome to join us. There is also a Sunday School and refreshments are served afterwards.

On Tuesdays at 7pm we have quieter mass which lasts about 30 minutes, a short homily is usually preached and drinks are served afterwards. We also run regular teaching courses after the 7pm mass.
