Groundwork North Wales

General information

Groundwork is a green social enterprise which enables disadvantaged individuals and communities to change their own lives for the better, by engaging them in physical and environmental “green” activities. Groundwork was established in North Wales in 1991, as part of the pan-UK Groundwork Federation. The Trust works in partnership with local public and private organisations, to build socially, economically and environmentally sustainable communities across the 6 counties of North Wales.

The objectives of Groundwork are:

•To promote the conservation, protection and improvement of the physical and natural environment.

•To provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure time occupation with the objective of improving the conditions of life for those living in or working in North Wales.

•To advance public education in environmental matters and other ways of better conserving, protecting and improving the environment.
