Bryn Melyn Care is a leading provider of therapeutic residential care, independent education, and integrated clinical treatment for multiple and complex needs. Established in1985, we deliver a portfolio of specialist placement solutions for young people 10–18+ from crisis and assessment placements through to long-term specialist placements and preparation for independence.
Often a young person will have different needs at different times, which is why we offer a range of resources: solo placements, shared homes, rural locations, as well as urban environments. We can work with young people in crisis and in need of stabilisation, through to longer-term therapeutic care, including preparation for independence.
We also have experience and expertise in a range of specific behaviours and challenging needs including learning disability, mental health and CSE. Many of the young people we work with have highly problematic attachment patterns and some will present a range of other needs. Often the young person will display a combination of needs – every young person is an individual, which is why we specifically tailor each placement.

Summary
• We are a specialist therapeutic provider working with young people with multiple and complex needs.
• We operate 24 registered children’s homes, ranging from very rural right through to suburban settings, we currently have 10 solo occupancy placements, nine dual placements, four three-bed and one four-bed placements, each with 1:1 staffing ratio. This is our core model.
• We also have a high achieving registered independent school with a dedicated teaching team and offering the full curriculum (the schools only educate our young people) one of which is a vocational and training education facility, also linking in with colleges and training at the appropriate stage.
• In house clinical team - all young people have an initial needs assessment, to provide an integrated therapeutic placement including individual therapy from the in-house clinical team and the clinician provides monthly consultation to care teams to address underlying issues.
• Due to the high tariff nature of our young people, we have strong working relationships with external agencies such as Safeguarding, YOT and CAMHS.
