We operate with a small team of staff, each of us individual, and each of us enjoying what we do.

Friendly, helpful and charismatic, we are confident that we can make you feel welcome and provide you with the service you expect.

The Golden Lion is a versatile venue that is moving with the times, however, we have not forgotten that fundamentally and traditionally Pubs are somewhere people go for a good time.

We work in partnership with Punch Taverns and are therefore able to offer competitive prices on our food and beverages as well as regular promotions and discounts.

Tasty food is available daily, and our lunchtime menus include a variety of freshly made sandwiches, and paninis. We offer a take-away service and pre-ordering facility for those with a busy schedule. Sundays are all about the Roast which at The Golden Lion is traditional and home cooked....no frozen roasties served here!

We can cater for special occasions, business lunches and large parties.

Boasting one of the largest outdoor terraces in Central Watford makes us a real hidden gem in this bustling location.

Live entertainment every Friday makes us the perfect place to start your weekend. We hold a quiz on the first Tuesday of every month, FREE jukebox on Thursday nights, and much more so follow us on Facebook to keep up to date.

We show all major sporting events on one of our 4 internal wide screen TV's. For the lazy summer days or evenings we even have a TV outside! We open at 11am for all Watford FC home matches and the atmosphere is awesome.

We offer a 10% discount to anyone serving in the Armed Forces, Frontline Emergency Service workers (including doctors & nurses) and Teachers. Valid ID is required, be it a warrant card, staff pass or recent payslip (staff have the right to withdraw this offer at any time)

Offering a comprehensive range of beverages including premium brands aswell as regularly changing Guest Ales and Craft beers means we really do have something for everyone.

No children are allowed on the premises after 9pm and that includes in the garden. We aren't being mean...we love kids and they are very welcome here, BUT it is a condition our license so we have to adhere to this.

Dogs are also welcome...especially in the Summer months, but we do ask that they are kept on leash and away from people consuming food.

We do operate a challenge 25 policy so please do not be offended if you are asked for ID. We also operate a zero tolerance policy towards drugs so please just don't do it.
