Specialising in STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) subjects, Discovery School delivers an applied modern curriculum that bases learning on real world industrial experience and projects as well as more traditional academic learning.
In addition to its specialist subjects, Discovery School offers a diverse range of other subjects and qualifications to provide students with choices of further and higher education, training or employment once they have completed their studies. Students can study all the core subjects at GCSE and A Level.
The school is located in a new purpose-built, highly technical, industry-standard facility in Newcastle city centre. Using these facilities, students are taught by highly experienced teachers and industry specialists who help them apply their knowledge of subjects to real life technical problems and solutions. With this in mind we have designed the school day and year to allow students to receive all the support they need to complete school work, home work and projects on site during the day.
