General information
1912 Antonio Valente established his Ice Cream & Confectionery business in Plymouth. His grandson Joseph Valente continued the family business until 1959 when it was taken over by Williams Ice Cream Ltd., run by David Williams and his four Brothers. The Williams family carried on making this very special 'real creamy' ice cream under the 'Williams' brand, winning many of the highest awards including the ICA Silver Challenge Cup.
In 1992 Lee Williams, David's son, re-launched an Artisan-Gelato brand at Kitley Farm, Devon, 'Valenti's Dairy Ice Cream'. Valenti's too won many more awards including 'Special Diplomas of Merit' for Vanilla, Chocolate and many more.
Since 2008 Lee has dedicated his time, skill and knowledge to helping new 'wannabe' Gelato/Ice Cream makers, who wish to create their own 'quality standard'. We hope to place at their disposal "a little part of Antonio's recipe for success."
