K9 Fun Club

General information

K9FC is a fun dog training class run by myself, Judith Pownall, for the purpose of teaching pet dog owners how to train their dogs/puppies in basic obedience and practical/responsible dog ownership using reward based training methods.

I would like to take this opportunity to make my position quite clear. I am not a Vet, Veterinary Nurse or Dog Behaviourist/Psychologist. I will listen to any problems that you have with your dog but may well advise you to see either a Vet or Dog Behaviourist before you are able to continue with your classes. It is your responsibility to make sure that I am fully aware of any health or behaviour problems that you currently have with your dog. Even the most minor health or behaviour problems can affect your dog’s ability to learn and understand any new training.

The information I give both verbally and written are practises that I have used because they work for me. This information is intended as a guideline to improve the relationship between dog and owner/handler. However each and every owner/handler and dog are individual and what works for one may not work for another. With this in mind it is the owner/handlers decision whether or not to follow the same practises. Only you know your own dog and you must do what you think is best for your dog.
