About Us

We are an independent community based opticians located in Marlborough, Wiltshre. Our aim is to provide all the eyecare needs for the residents of Marlborough and the surrounding area, ensuring you receive the best individual care and attention.

Since opening in April 2008 we have provided a dedicated bespoke service based on quality eyecare and eyewear. It is this personalised service which truly sets us apart.

We believe the right choice in eyewear is equally as important as the right clothing or other aspect of your apparel, it helps to create the right impression and should add to your confidence.

Optometrist / director Roy Bhatia has worked for the vast majority of multiple Opticians over the past 16 years and found there simply wasn't always the time to provide quality eyecare, consequently the whole process sometimes appeared a little rushed and impersonal. One of the reasons Jaqueline Burns Opticians opened was to provide the Marlborough community with the highest standard of eyecare with all products, services and advice under one roof.

Being Independent allows us to offer impartial advice on all your eyecare needs, from accessories and magnifiers to vitamin supplements and eye drops. Our independence also enables us to provide you with recommendations and advice on spectacle frames, lenses, contact lenses or any optical product that is most suitable for you -sourcing them locally, nationally or internationally.

With the prevalance of age related eye diseases such as glaucoma, diabetic eye disease and Macula degeneration visiting your local Optometrist for an eye examination has never been so important.

Our comprehensive Eye Examination is at the heart of our service. This has been further enhanced with the recent addition of our new Topcon 3D OCT Scan. The OCT allows us for the first time to view the microscopic layers of the retina. We have also invested in a State-of-the-art corneal topographer to treat short sight and astigmatism without the need for spectacles or contact lenses (CRT).
