Holidays: Idyllic childhood memories will come to life in this enchanted location nestled in the heart of a dramatic wooded ravine in Northumberland. The historic Priory stands proudly alongside the River Coquet. Naturally off the beaten track, yet surprisingly close to excellent transport links and Newcastle International Airport. The former stables, cottages & surrounding gardens have been converted to a luxurious standard, perfect for a chic and memorable wedding, holiday or celebration. A chance to escape from the fast paced life that we so often live today.

History: Brinkburn Priory was built in 1135 by monks, who found unrivalled solitude in the peaceful setting by the meandering River Coquet, which gently loops around the ravine. The Fenwick family have lived there ever since, gifting the Priory to English Heritage in 1961. Mark and Emma renovated the dramatic Grade II Listed Stables in 2009, now licensed for civil ceremonies. They are delighted that Brinkburn has now become a romantic wedding destination for future generations.
A painting of young family member Sarah Cadogan hangs proudly in the dining hall. Sarah caused an epic scandal centuries ago, when her lover whisked her away on his horse eloping to Gretna Green aged fifteen.

Weddings: Be yourself, be relaxed, be comfortable, be excited, slow down it's a one off day, make yourself at home. Step into the beautiful White Room for a ceremony, play in the grounds, have a blessing in The Priory. Return to a marquee or the White Room to eat, drink, dance and then relax back into the comfort of your house - go on make memories for life.

Your special day at Brinkburn will be made even more wonderful with the dramatic setting of Priory next to the converted Stables that sleeps 8+. This is simply a unique setting for an intimate wedding and dinner for up to 50 guests with room for a marquee, Tipi or Yurt on the raised lawn in front of the house for up to 80 more guests. Weddings can be arranged in the Priory with consent from the Vicar.
