Shackleton Instruments (a division of The Shackleton Design & Manufacturing Company) is proud to be restarting a manufacturing industry that has been dormant in the UK for more than 60 years. In 2012 we launched the superbly reviewed, limited-edition Islander Ash Leaf banjo. And in 2013 we followed popular demand to create The Shackleton, the first affordable British banjo in well over half a century. The Shackleton Banjo caused a worldwide stir through its Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign, which was in the top 2% most successful Kickstarter campaigns ever. And handmade Shackleton banjos are not only unique but also designed to be the best playing and sounding banjos in their price bracket in the world. Designed and manufactured by hand in Great Britain.
