General information
George Weil began trading as a silk merchant in 1891. The business grew to become George Weil & Sons Ltd in 1932, and developed as a specialist in textile craft supplies. In 1999 it joined together with Fibrecrafts, which was established in 1982, to supply textile craftsmen with spinning and weaving supplies. The range of handmade papers were brought to the business when it took over the Papershed in 2004, fabric dyes with the acquisition of Suasion in 2006 and polymer clays and Art Clay Silver clay when the Polymer Clay Pit joined the group in 2008. The latest range of products come from Selectasine Serigraphics in 2010 which expanded the choice of screen printing products. In March 2013 George Weil expanded the range of products to include fine art supplies.
