AS Communications (UK) Ltd are currently market leaders in providing precision farming solutions to the agricultural industry in the UK supplying GPS guidance, steering and product control systems that help farming operations become more efficient and profitable.

AS Communications was established 1989 by founder and current managing director William Mumford in recognition of the fact that the agricultural industry in UK would benefit from expert knowledge in the fields of modern electronics and communication techniques.

During 1995, following a visit to the Massey Ferguson combine plant in Dronningborg, Denmark William received a request from Mark Moore and Jim Potter, both AGCO, to assist with the installation of Global Positioning System (GPS) base stations in the UK required for their new FieldStar yield mapping system. As a result, many base stations were installed across the country facilitating the first wide-scale use of yield mapping in the UK.

Later in early 2003, AS Communications was approached by the Agricultural Division of US company Trimble Navigation with an offer to become one of only two official Trimble resellers in the UK. The company was successful in selling the first Trimble Autopilot automated steering system in Europe later that same year.

AS Communications continues to be central in increasing the lead market share held by Trimble Agriculture across the UK offering a continually expanding, innovative product portfolio of precision farming products. The company has also gained a number of other key suppliers to further extend the range of high-quality equipment offered including from Dakota Micro, Inc., DICKEY-john Farmstead, Farm Works Software and Pacific Crest.

AS Communications celebrated its 25th Anniversary during 2014 marking a key milestone for the company in providing precision farming solutions to the agricultural industry in the UK.
