Back in 2013, 2 sign fitters drove for 3 hours from the Head Office of Bigprinting. They arrived at a customers site only to be told their risk assessments wasn't presented in a neat enough format.
They drove back to the office. Loaded up Excel and started the laborious task of creating a new risk assessment. A day was wasted and the work schedule for the rest of the week was ruined.
Why couldn't this have been carried out on site? Why the drive back? Why the wasted day? Both fitters had been given adequate risk assessment training and yet the huge waste of a day.
The answer - despite apps pretty much taking over the world as we know it, nobody had thought of creating one for the one and most important business requirement - Risk Assessment. Pretty much every company globally has to do it!
The next day, Directors James Boatwright and Michael Egan began work on a new iOS App, to enable their team to carry out onsite risk assessments, with the option to email the report straight from the device.
1 week after launch we received hundreds of downloads. We took this seriously. Development continued and 3 years later we've picked up 45,000 downloads.
Our system now runs on iOS, Android & Desktop. Windows development is underway.
