Butterfly Nursery

General information

A not for profit organisation, we were formed and funded through the Urban Aid Project in 1986 in response to an identified need for quality, affordable childcare within the local area which would enable parents/carers in the community to return to work and education.
This is still a core aspect of the organisation's vision and now, thirty years later we have progressed from a playbus, to room within a local primary school,and now to our current premises in response to the demand in our geographical area. The Nursery’s status too has progressed to a company limited by guarantee within the Voluntary sector with charitable status, providing care and education for children aged two to five years in partnership with Glasgow City Council.
The Nursery is at the heart of the local community providing quality and affordable childcare our reason for conception is echoed still today by the Government’s ten year strategy (Cabinet Office, 2009) to provide good quality early years education and childcare for all.
