Glasgow Natural History Society Company Information
General information
In 1851 the society was founded as The Natural History Society of Glasgow, and over the years it has amalgamated with several other similar groups, becoming the Glasgow Natural History Society in 1980.
GNHS enjoys one of the biggest memberships for a natural history society in Scotland. We have frequent talks and excursions, covering a wide range of topics. There is a lot of expertise among our members, and there are plenty of opportunities to learn and improve your skills at our regular meetings. Our journal, The Glasgow Naturalist, publishes an excellent selection of interesting research, and we also offer grants for a variety of projects.
