The views from the cottage are simply stunning. The flat Fenland means you can see for miles and the vast open skies make for stunning sunsets. There is an abundance of wildlife in the area, especially birds, and barn owls can be spotted hunting as the sun sets.
The cottage has 2 bedrooms, 1 King size and 1 Twin room, sleeping 4 Adults comfortably. Two well behaved pets are also welcome!
We are located in the perfect area for people interested in bird-watching. Being close to Welney Wildfowl Reserve and the RSPB Ouse washes. We are also 15 miles from Wicken Fen.
The nearby rivers Great Ouse, River Delph and The Old Bedford offer fishing opportunities.
There are walks from the cottage door and the area offers nice pan flat roads for cyclists. There are many amazing pubs in the local villages offering good food. Why not map out a cycle route and stop for lunch!
Ely is a must to visit with its magnificent Cathedral and Oliver Cromwell House. It boasts of riverside walks and lovely tea-rooms.
Cambridge is perfect for restaurants, punting and shopping, and the museums, colleges and universities are worth a visit.
Hawthorn cottage is a truly wonderful retreat, offering peace and quiet.
