Bank House Guest House Company Information

General information

Helen and Steve Harrison extend a warm friendly welcome to Bank House Guest House where your comfort is our main priority and guests are encouraged to 'make yourselves at home!' in our relaxed atmosphere. Bank House is situated in the centre of the picturesque village of Hartington, world famous for the production of award winning Stilton Cheeses.* see news section. Grade II listed, Bank House was built in 1828 with local limestone and gritstone. The major floor and roof timbers are of oak with some evidence of the use of ex ships timbers (re-cycling is not a modern concept!). We are kept warm and dry with full central heating and we can see at night due to the incorporation of Thomas Edison inspired electric light bulbs! Bank House is also our family home where children of all ages are welcomed and encouraged. Having travelled extensively with our own children, we fully understand the needs of young families. We know that when the kids are relaxed, mum and dad can relax and un-wind too! Young babies are no problem here. We are happy to make facilities available for night time feeds and we don't even charge for babes under two years. In our experience relaxed parents help baby to feel safe and content. Cot and high chair are provided, saving luggage space on your bicycles! Bank House is a well recognised guest house which has been awarded "4 stars" with the AA ratings, you can rest assured you will be in good hands so you can concentrate on enjoying your stay.
