Munchkins Miniature Shetland Rescue

General information

Munchkins Miniature Shetland Rescue offers a home for life for ponies who have suffered abuse, neglect or abandonment, or have been made homeless through no fault of their own. We do not loan or re-home our ponies at present. We have capacity for approximately 30 ponies. If we acquire more land we will expand accordingly. Whilst we can maintain our volunteers and helpers we will offer stability with a home for life to ponies. We will be offering some healthy ponies for re-homing to foster homes in the future. Foster homes will be checked and we will insist on references and vet checks, within a 30 mile radius of Colyton. All ponies will belong to Munchkins and may be returned at any time to our Rescue centre. Many have come from troubled backgrounds and need the continuity of a permanent home. We have a small group of wonderful volunteers and are entirely self funded. We are applying for charity status and do a little fundraising locally where we can. They may be small but even little ponies need specialist care and all of this costs money. To keep our ponies healthy and happy they require on a regular basis hay, feed, bedding, worming, farrier visits, vaccinations and veterinary attention.
