England's largest mixed arts Festival.
Brighton Festival is an annual celebration of music, theatre, dance, circus, art, film, literature, debate, outdoor and family events, which takes place in venues both familiar and unusual across Brighton & Hove for three weeks each May.
Brighton Festival is an innovative commissioning and producing festival, which continues to win critical acclaim for its ambitious and daring programme. As England's largest annual event of its kind, Brighton Festival attracts some of the best artists and companies - and most adventurous audiences - from the UK and around the world.
In May 2013, we welcomed poet, writer, broadcaster and former Children's Laureate Michael Rosen as our fifth Guest Director, who presided over a record-breaking year. In 2014 we welcome acclaimed choreographer Hofesh Shechter as Brighton Festival Guest Director.
Previous Guest Directors have included actress and human rights campaigner Vanessa Redgrave; Burmese democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi; renowned visual artist Anish Kapoor; and celebrated musician Brian Eno.
