Hello, we are Scape. As 2017 finalist for the Greats award Best lifestyle, homewares and gifts retailer based in Westbourne Arcade, Poole Road, Bournemouth, Dorset, we offer a wide range of beautiful premium wood furniture and unusual home accessories since 2008. Our reclaimed wood painted furniture, sheesham furniture, dark mango wood furniture, light mango wood furniture, and quirky home accessories are seen in many lovely homes throughout Dorset, as well as further afield in Scotland, and Ireland, we've even delivered as far as Australia!! We have also supplied bespoke commercial furniture and flower arrangements to well-known local restaurants, shops and other establishments.

We also won the small business Sunday award from Theo Phaphitis in Feb 2015.

The concept of Scape came about as a result of the extensive travels of the founder Chris Brandon.

After a visit to India in the late nineties, he involved himself with helping an organisation called El Shaddai, which was the very first charitable organisation to help the orphaned street children in the province of Goa, India. Chris was soon enjoying his involvement within the charity and was eventually made treasurer for the international fund raising operation.

After this,he began spending three months a year living in India, travelling all the way around the country. During his journey, he was amazed by the skills of the local artisans and craftsmen.

Upon his return to the UK In 2008, he opened our doors as SCAPE West in Bournemouth.Since this time, we have been travelling all round different countries, bringing back unique products from around the world.

Working with our overseas supplier, we have helped to design the range of light mango wood furniture that have sold well in the UK and US. We also supply the premium sheesham furniture range, dark mango wood range and recycled teak root furniture in our shop in Bournemouth. We are also in the process of developing a brand new range of wooden furniture that are exclusive to us.

We offer a unique and competitive bespoke furniture service for commercial clients who have difficulty in finding the right combination of furniture to fit their individual room needs. Whatever your requirements, we go to great lengths to make sure each commission is professionally managed to exacting standards from start to finish. We are also very keen on the prices, as our products are commissioned to be made overseas and generally takes only 8 weeks to arrive.

We are committed to providing meticulous attention to detail and a personal service from the initial design stage through to completion. Following your inquiry, we will contact you to discuss your requirements. We can work from pictures / photos that you provide or send you some design ideas in the form of a dimensional sketch drawing.

Many of our products are sourced fair trade where possible. The origins of our products are very important to us, we have a strong fair trade ethos and strive to ensure our suppliers receive a fair price, so that the men and women creating the products take home a good local living wage.

We also have on show a vast array of lovely gifts and unusual home accessories including Handmade jewelry from the Sahara desert, vintage style clocks from France, teak root furniture from Indonesia, handmade chess sets from Venice-Italy, hand crafted lamps from Thailand, quirky clocks from Germany, premium quality cow hide rugs from Brazil, handmade leather sculptures from Egypt, handmade silver plated jewelry from Turkey, and hand blown glass objects from Germany, woodwick candles, Ashley & Burwood fragrance lamps, and beautiful silk flowers!
