General information

For over 30 years the FMO has been a regional umbrella body for Muslim organisations in Leicestershire, including Masajid, Madrasahs, Charities and other Islamic organisations. With over 200 affiliates, the FMO seeks to be a unified and reflective voice of the Muslim community in Leicestershire.
The Federation is a non-political, non-sectarian body whose aim is to provide the means for the cooperation of all Muslim organisations, communities, institutions and projects within the county of Leicestershire.
We provide a forum for the expression of the collective opinion of its representatives on all matters related to educational, cultural, social, economic, religious, health and all other relevant aspects, which may affect their interest.

Our aim is to familiarise the government, the local authorities, and other statutory and voluntary bodies with the needs of the Muslim community in the educational, cultural, social economic religious and health dimensions.

The FMO aims to secure an effective representation of the Muslim community in all the above mentioned bodies and have full consultation with them via their representatives on all issues concerning or affecting the Federation and its members.

The FMO provides full support and comprehensive advice in developing and advancing education and other activities be they religious, socio-economic, recreational, cultural, or health, which may best help to meet the needs of the Muslim community that are more disadvantaged, i.e. elderly/disabled/ young people/ children and women.
