General information

My name is James Sadler and I am a tradesman living in the Leeds area. I have over 15 years’ experience in the building trade and believe providing a quality service to my customers is the most important part of my job. I am also strongly committed to recycling and will try and utilise existing materials where appropriate, and use environmentally friendly products where possible.
I have worked for a number of experienced tradesmen both in England and New Zealand. In New Zealand I specialised in external rendering, block, brick and stone work for 5 years. During that time I worked on some of the fantastic new developments in Queenstown during the property boom of 2001 – 2006
Since returning to the UK I have been employed working for a property maintenance business all over the Leeds area and have done the full range of general maintenance and insurance work to properties. Within this time I have gutted and restored our 100 year old terrace, restoring a number of original features including an inglenook fireplace, hacked all the walls back to brick, re-plastered throughout, knocked through walls and ripped up and installed wood flooring.
I love the landscaping and gardening side, and have done a number of design and build features to different styles and size of garden including our own house. I cleared and levelled our sloping garden, removed the previous patio and built a new one utilising some of the existing slabs, but reusing some of the old stone from the house I added some feature stone work to make the patio more interesting and a bespoke stone raised bed. I then turfed the rest of the garden once I had installed a vegetable patch and a rose garden for the wife. I enjoy building things from wood and spent last summer building garden planters and raised beds from reclaimed wood and decking boards to sell and I built a wood shed to store wood for our log burning stove.
I decided to go out on my own so I can specialise in the areas I enjoy the most and apply my ethics to each job. I have listed below the trade summary I am specialising in, but have also included a detailed list I can do in a house inside and out.
